“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.“
Matthew 9:37 NIV
What is an “access-restricted” nation?
It is a nation without “freedom of religion.” Restriction shows up in many forms-either through direct government persecution and legal restrictions; political instability; or conflict between ethnic and religious groups. There is access into these nations but restricted access.
These access-restricted nations comprise most of the world’s unreached peoples and most of the governments that oppose Christianity. Half of the world’s population is located in Asia and represents the largest blocks of the main world religions and philosophies—Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Animism and Communism.
Hence, the need of the gospel of Christ. The gospel is the hope for Asia and all other nations. Jesus said to His disciples “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few” (Matt 9:37).
Our Strategic Ministries
-
For more than two decades, local pastors and church leaders have used the CEP materials to train the next generation of leaders in their churches and places of ministry. More than 50,000 pastors, women leaders and children’s workers have undergone training using these programs.
-
As the church continues to grow, so does the need for Bibles and Christian literature. These materials are often scarce, unavailable or too expensive to purchase for a ordinary believer. For more than 20 years, Ethnos Asia Ministries has delivered nearly a million Bibles, hymnbooks and other Christian literature to restricted countries in Asia and yet, the need is still great.
-
Ethnos Asia Ministries and Partners have established mission schools in remote and marginalized areas of Myanmar, Bangladesh, Cambodia, and Pakistan. These school have been strategically started to give the greatest impact to their communities. These educational facilities have served over 500+ students and supported more than 30 teachers and staff.
-
Families of pastors and church workers are trained to use natural farming methods to help support themselves. Many have reaped the benefits of this program from the harvest of rice and other agricultural products, to the raising of fish and chicken. Aside from training, there is also a need to raise startup funds for these endeavors.
-
EAM has supplied food, medicine and clothing and other basic necessities to Christians who have come under complicated situations such as the Karen tribe in refugee camps, and imprisoned pastors and relocated believers in Laos and Vietnam. Emergency assistance has been sent to the earthquake survivors in Nepal; the flood victims in Cambodia and Bangladesh; and to the survivors of the bombing in Pakistan.
-
Providing the church worldwide with an opportunity to hear and respond to the voice of the persecuted Christians in Asia.
-
Prayer mobilization for the church worldwide to minister to access-restricted nations in Asia, using our monthly prayer focus, prayer fax, prayer net, prayer journeys, and prayer conferences.
